Beck totally rules! Ever since I've seen this anime, its been one of my top favorites of all time besides Air, My-Hime, and Kyou Kara. Not only does this anime have great songs, but the characters are well written.

To get the gist of things its about a boy name Koyuki who starts playing the guitar and joins a band soon to become called Beck (named after a strange looking dog o_O) Basically the band strives to become well known not only through Japan, but to reach America as well.
